Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Minecraft Translation Center.
1What is Minecraft Translation Center?
Minecraft Translation Center is a community platform for sharing translations (localization files) for Minecraft modpacks and maps. You can download translations created by community members for free and upload your own translations.
2Are the translations free?
Yes, all translation files on Minecraft Translation Center are free. The platform is maintained by voluntary community contributions, and operating costs are covered through advertising.
3How do I apply a translation?
Place the resource pack file (.zip) in the game's resourcepacks folder and enable it in Settings > Resource Packs. If override files are provided, overwrite the modpack folder contents. See the Translation Application Guide for detailed instructions.
4Is it safe to ignore the version compatibility warning?
Yes, it's safe. Translation resource packs contain only text and work regardless of Minecraft version. Click 'Yes' to force apply.
5The translation isn't working.
Please check: 1) The resource pack is enabled. 2) The resource pack is at the top of the list. 3) The modpack version matches the translation version. 4) Try restarting the game.
6How do I upload a translation?
Log in with your Discord account, then submit files on the upload page. Select a modpack or map, provide the resource pack file and translation info, then upload. It will be published after admin review.
7What's the difference between AI and manual translation?
AI translation uses large language models like GPT-4 and Claude for automatic translation. It can translate large volumes quickly but may miss context. Manual translation is done by a human translator, offering higher quality but taking more time.
8When will my uploaded translation be published?
Translations are published after admin review. This typically takes 24-48 hours. You can check the review status on the 'My Uploads' page.
9I got errors after applying override files.
Override files are sensitive to modpack versions. Verify the versions match exactly. If issues persist, restore your backup and try applying only the resource pack. For KubeJS errors, try excluding the kubejs folder.
10Can I request a translation for a specific modpack?
Yes, you can request translations in the translation request channel on our Discord server. Community members review requests and work on translations.
11How do I use the desktop translation tool?
Download and install the desktop translation tool from GitHub. The tool automatically extracts modpack text, performs AI translation, and packages results as a resource pack. See the GitHub README for detailed usage.
12How is translation quality ensured?
All translations go through admin review, and the community review system provides quality feedback. You can check the translation rate, method, and review scores on the translation detail page.
